The Log Book

Privacy Policy

Beta version — last updated August 2026

What we collect

Your name and email address (your account); vehicle details and odometer readings you enter; and trip records — start and end times, the GPS location at the start and end of a trip (two points only, never continuous tracking), distances, and the client names and purposes you type for business trips.

Why we collect it

For one purpose: producing your SARS-compliant travel logbook. We do not sell, share, or advertise with your data.

Who can see it

Only you. Every trip is private to your account and protected by row-level security in our database. Location lookups (converting GPS points to a suburb name and a driving distance) are processed by OpenStreetMap-based services; they receive coordinates only, never your name.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (EU region, Ireland) and the app is hosted on Vercel. Both are POPIA-compatible processors under standard contractual terms.

Your rights (POPIA)

You may request a copy of your data, correct it (every trip is editable in the app), or delete your account and everything in it — email us and we'll action it within a reasonable time.

Beta note

The Log Book is in beta. This policy will be refined before paid plans launch; material changes will be announced in the app.
